Evolution: My Journey & Practical Tips for Self-Care

I hope you’re all doing well. Today, I wanted to share with you the journey I was on for the past few months – in short, it's been an evolution. Last year, I felt like my life was stuck in a rut. I wasn’t satisfied with my work or personal life, so I made a decision to change that.

I embarked on a journey to “glow up” my reality. I scoured job listings, dove into the depths of TikTok and YouTube for tips, and even took some time away from everyone except my close friends and immediate family.

A few months later, I have a toy poodle puppy, a new car, a new job, and a new apartment. But beyond these external changes, my main focuses now are my puppy, my health, wellness, self-care, personal endeavors, spirituality and professional career. It's incredible how my life has transformed simply by focusing on myself and treating myself as the prize.

Now, let's talk about how you can embark on your own journey of evolution, starting with some foundational tips for diet, fitness, skin, hair, and nails. And don’t worry I’ll be sharing my recipes, techniques, tricks and tips with you.

Diet: As a busy woman, it's essential to fuel your body with nutritious foods that also fit your lifestyle. Start by incorporating more fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, legumes, and whole grains into your meals. Meal prepping can be a lifesaver for busy weeks – try preparing batches of rice and beans, grilled chicken, and roasted vegetables to have on hand for quick and healthy meals. Don't forget to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, and limit sugary drinks and snacks.

Fitness: Finding time for exercise can be tough when you're juggling work and other responsibilities, but even short bursts of activity can make a big difference. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise at least 3 times a week. This could be a brisk walk with your puppy, a quick walk on your lunch break, a home workout using bodyweight exercises or fitness videos, or a dance class with friends. The key is to find activities you enjoy and that fit into your schedule.

Skin: Taking care of your skin is essential for a radiant glow. Start by determining what type of skin you have, yur sensitivities and triggers, and find the best products for yourself. Here are some essentials that everyone should have in their skin arsenal: an oil based cleanser, a wate based cleanser, a toner, a serum, an essence, an exfoliate, a moisturizer, and sunscreen. Consider adding a weekly exfoliation treatment, a hydrating face mask, and a monthly facial or laser treatment to keep your skin looking fresh and rejuvenated.

Hair: Maintaining healthy hair is all about finding a routine that works for you. Keep your hair clean by using a clarifying and hydrating shampoo and conditioner, and consider adding a weekly deep conditioning treatment to restore moisture and shine. Limit heat styling tools and opt for protective hairstyles to prevent damage. Don't forget to trim your hair regularly to get rid of split ends and promote growth. Oiling your scal about 3 times a week for a healthy hydrated scalp.

Nails: For busy women, simple nail care routines are key. Keep your nails clean and trimmed, and consider investing in a good quality nail strengthener to prevent breakage. Consider a ritual of getting a manicure and pedicure eveyr two weeks to a month depending on your schedule. Treat yourself to a spa manicure and pedicure every now and then as a treat to yourself. Press on nails are an affordable and convenient routine for nail care as well.

Remember, the most important thing is to listen to your body and make choices that make you feel happy, beautiful and confident. Here's to your journey of reinvention – may it be filled with self-love, growth, and plenty of glow-ups!
